"Hekkingen fyrstasjon" (2 of 3)
Description
The light station was built in 1859 and is one of the oldest in the region. The new keepers' cottage was built as late as in the 1960s. Originally the lighthouse was kept by a family, but this changed in 1962 when the new keepers' cottage was built and it was manned by several keepers doing shifts. The light station was one of the last to be automated in 2005 and it is managed by the Norwegian Coastal Administration.
