"Reine kirke" (3 of 5)
Description
Reine Church has had three different organs. In the early years a precentor led congregation in singing the often very long hymns. The first instrument was a harmonium that arrived in 1917.
This was used until 1948 when it was replaced by a pipe organ with 10 ranks, 2 keyboards and pedal board made by Brødrene Torkildsen in Trondheim. In 1987 another pipe organ made by the Swedish company Robert Gustavsson Orgelbyggeri, was installed. It has 10 ranks with a total of 650 pipes, two keyboards and pedal board. It is about the same size as its predecessor, but is carefully adjusted to the space in this particular church. The organ case is designed to complement the church's style and has some fine carvings.
