The company Hamningberg Rorbuer has repaired and rebuilt fishermen's cabins in accordance with the original drawings used by Hamningberg Fiskersamvirke (fishermen's co-operative) during the 1950s. That organisation was one of many such fishermen's co-operatives established in Finnmark in the early years after the Second World War and in no other part of the country was the enthusiasm for this business model as great as in Finnmark. About 50 new such co-operatives were created and these established 28 fish processing plants. The plant in Hamningberg consists of a wharf, raw materials handling area, processing room and storehouse as well as accommodation for visiting fishermen.
