Description

The fishermen's sheds are located by the sea, and an open piece of land separates them from the kitchen garden. These structures are often referred to as "Russian fishermen's sheds". The Russians used them at a time when Hamningberg was one of the land stations, along the Finnmark Coastline, where Russians had fishing permits. The sheds are long in form. Each shed is comprised of a cogging jointed combined living room/bedroom and a shed for fishing equipment that is timber framed. The roofs are sod-covered.
