Description

The forest warden's residence was built in 1866 and was the first purpose built residence for employees of the state-owned agency. It is a spacious one-storey log house with attic. Externally the house has vertical cladding and it now has wooden board on board roof covering. This might originally have been a slate roof, but on the other hand in this dry inland climate the house may well always have had a wooden roof. The main entrance is a panelled double door and the windows have crossing transom and mullions.
