Description

The vertical-boarded shed stands on pillars. In this small building there are three old methods of construction represented - common cogging joints, low-wall construction and vertical-boarding, this is easily seen on the backside of the buildings. It is built with a combination of three constructions - cogging jointed timber with crossed notches below and post and plank technique with low-wall construction and vertical-boarding above. The wall is a part of the framework construction, which is comprised of vertical poles between a cogging jointed horizontal sill (beam) on the base , and a horizontal cogging jointed wall band (beam) on the upper edge of the wall. The wall plane is constructed of horizontal planks or boards which are fielded in, or inserted into tracks on the vertical poles. Above the horizontal planks there is vertical boards which is fielded in up and down.
