"Senter for nordlige folk" (2 of 7)
The library and exhibition areas are situated on the lower ground floor and are connected to the main entrance hall by stairs. The lower floor also contains offices, multi purpose rooms and various utilities. The walls have exposed concrete supplemented with elements made of pine, and the spaces have a more rustic feel than upstairs yet the rooms still have an intimate feel. The open library area is bathed in daylight and its colour scheme is neutral though brightened up with splashes of purple, orange and red textiles on the furniture. The exhibition areas, in contrast, are kept in dark colours.
