Situated at the far end of the ruins of the old mining community in Ankerlia in Kåfjorddalen is a small and quite unusual looking building: a hiker's shelter. It offers a place for wanderers and hikers to rest under cover on wet or windy days. It's built in wood brought into the valley and local stone. The sloping roof is clad in irregularly shaped, sized and coloured slates. It was built under the direction of the Finnish architect and professor Sami Rintala by a group of architecture students from the Norwegian University of Technology and Science in Trondheim.
