"Nøstvik kirke / Naustvik kirke" (3 of 7)
Description
The church underwent major repairs in 1884–1886, 1912 and 1932. The sacristy and the flat ceiling were added during the 1880s. In preparation for the church's 300th anniversary in 1974 full repair, restoration and some reconstruction took place with professional and financial support from Riksantikvaren, the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage. The inside of the log walls was exposed and the windows returned to their original size. A gallery was re-erected at the west end of the nave and a new organ installed. The rood screen was also refitted with balusters in its upper part, the nave's pews were replaced and the altarpiece restored.
