Description

Inside, the middle section has a wide central cupola, supported by four columns and corresponding with the ridge turret above. The central section accommodates the nave, with a little gallery at the back, as well as part of the choir section, which extends forward from the altar niche as far as the two columns in the ambulatory area of the central section, surrounded by a high altar rail. The spaces thus interact with each other, creating a certain tension and dynamic in the interior. This tension is further evident in the contrast between the substantial spatial areas, with solid columns, tarred timber walls and the fine interior details, painted in bright colours. Here, the shining, salmon-pink columns and the relief work of verdigris bench jambs are noteworthy, almost vibrating against the dark, matt timber walls.
