Description
This photograph from 1962 shows the building while it was still new. The structural elements and choice of materials are expressive: dark cladding contrast the light coloured parapets and glass
the large dramatic concrete pillars and beams of the gymnasium (which could be likened to fingers gripping the building) introduce further contrast between the vertical and horizontal elements. The tall end walls consist of concrete clad with yellow brick.
