"Sjøgata-området" (3 of 5)
Description
The map shows the beach area Mosjøen and the regulation plan for this new town in 1876. The building structures follow the shoreline, where the wharf warehouses and boathouses lie in two irregular rows. Behind the sea related structures, the street Sjøgata winds back and forth. At this time the rows of buildings lie with the long side facing the street - on both sides. The regulation map illustrates how the beach area was planned to be developed into a town with buildings arranged into uniform district blocks.
