A foundation for the preservation of the farm was established in the late 1980s. Since then, different people and organisations have managed the house. Simple changes have been made in the interior. The kitchen has been remodelled, and new restrooms have been built. These changes have not changed the character of the farmhouse much. In 2011, Friisgården functioned as a guesthouse and book café.
