"Simavåg" (6 of 7)
Description
The two one family houses have a more or less square footprint whilst the third semidetached house's footprint is rectangular. The chimney is placed in the centre of each house to be accessible from as many rooms as possible. The two northernmost houses have upstairs balconies for airing clothes and bedding, a very typical reconstruction era feature.
All bar one building in Simavåg has a pitched roof. The exception is a large boathouse with a mansard roof. Originally most would have had slate roofs, but many have been replaced by steel roofing sheets.
