"Maursund gård" (5 of 7)
Description
The north living-room had an original air when Nord-Troms Museum took responsibility for Maursund. It was kept as it had been, to a great extent, and furnished as a living-room from the mid-nineteenth century. What little remained of its contents after the destruction of 1944 found its place in this room. The living-room proved to have three layers of floorboards. The lowest and original floor was made of wide, thick planks of pine. At the window, with its view towards the wharf and quay, there were deep grooves in the floorboards. This must have been where old merchant Giæver stood and kept an eye on everything that was going on.
