"Beaivvasgieddi kapell" (3 of 5)
Description
The nave has only six rows of benches and, together with the choir, measures only 9 x 5.6 metres. The church is constructed in a simple new Romanesque style, characterized by round arches supported by slender columns. This style is emphasized by the fact that all the columns have block capitals on which semicircular ornamentation is engraved. The extensive use of carved sun-wheels as a decorative element at the corners of mouldings and on the bench side posts also represents a new Romanesque element, typical of that time.
