Description
This illustration depicts a lantern, with a tall spire, positioned on the roof of the belfry. Today the lantern is no longer there, but is vaguely seen in a photograph from 1867. At what time the steeple was altered remains uncertain. It may have been in 1882 when the church was severely damaged in a hurricane, or in 1928 when it underwent major repairs.
