"Paaljorden" (2 of 5)
Description
The three storehouses on pillars are situated in a row, on the edge bordering the river bank, arranged close to one another. Their gable ends overlook the river and the entrances on the gables face the dwelling house. They are made of cogging jointed timber and planks. Originally they had sod covered roofs that were supported by purlins. However today, the roofs are covered with tar paper. Two of the storehouses on pillars are from the middle of the 19th century, and the third was most likely built near the end of the 19th century. Therefore this site is automatically listed, in accordance with the Sámi cultural monument law, which applies to sites that are at least 100 years old.
