"Honningsvåg bystruktur" (3 of 9)
Description
The result of BSR's work in Finnmark was simple and functional town plans. The intention was to attend to local characteristics and adjust the plan and buildings according to the landscape. This resulted in towns and villages characterised by organisation and order. Honningsvåg's building development that surrounds Vågen appears brightly coloured in comparison to the surrounding landscape, which is characterised by sparse vegetation and a vastly mighty sea. Innermost in Vågen lie three warehouses that house the Fishermen's Service Station. On top of the hill Klubben, emerges the Fishermen's College. Above and to the left in the photograph, one catches a glimpse of the fire station, town hall and meeting square.
