Description

The building is made of cogging jointed Russian larch wood. Initially the house was one-and-a-half-storied, designed in the Empire style, and had a saddle roof with a centrally positioned entrance on the side facing the sea. However when the house was erected in Vadsø, it became a trendier Swiss style two-storied villa with rich details created with a jigsaw. Today the Empire style is evident in the main form of the house. The building's construction and materials are the same as when the house stood at Mortensnes - the dormers, annexes and the rich Swiss style detailing emerged when the building was re-erected in Vadsø. Located on the back side of the house is an annex from the 20th century.
