Description

The Hydro type 220 residence, designed by the architect Wilhelm Swensen, was one of many component range drawings developed in 1946. It is a one-and-a-half-storied detached house - constructed of wooden materials. It is a residence where the area is well-connected, with for instance three large bedrooms with lots of closet space. This may be one reason why this type of residence was quite popular and often used. Two bedrooms and closets are located in the loft, while the bathroom and another bedroom are on the main storey, along with the kitchen, sitting room, hallway and vestibule. The outdoor storeroom is crowned by a terrace, with an exit from the living room and the vestibule, with overbuilt stairways on each end of the house. Some features that are characteristic of this residence are the horizontal panelling on the exterior and the large roofs, with a ridge that is situated at a 90 degree angle in relation to the long axis of the residence.
