In the middle of the town centre in Lyngseidet lie two old wooden buildings, the estate Rossgården and the old bakery. These structures along with the estate Giævergården form a row that constitutes Lyngseidet's old centre. These three wooden buildings vary in size and detailing. Together they represent developments in architecture over a span of one hundred years - from the beginning of the 19th century until the beginning of the 20th century.

A bakery was often the first business that was established in emerging towns, during the beginning in the 19th century. The estate Rossgården was built as a residence for the blacksmith Ross, who established a boat slip and repair shop in Lyngseidet - also the most important business that is still in operation.

The bakery is one of the Lyngseidets oldest existing structures. It was declared a listed building in 1982.
