The main entrances are on the west side of the building. The coal is also brought in on this side by a conveyor belt to the top of the indoor silo. The elevated conveyor stands on red trestles and the conveyor gantry and belt shelter behind grey walls and roof. Before the coal enters the boiler, it is sorted and the waste is removed by lorries, which also enter the building from the west. The flue gas is emitted to the atmosphere through the tall chimney and a purification programme was planned for 2012.
