Description
The slanting contours of the structure are a reflection of the sloping mountainsides around Longyearbyen. The building has a relatively unobtrusive relationship with the landscape. In addition, the effects of high winds and the formation of snowdrifts around the structure were taken into consideration. Therefore, the layout of the building is adapted for the Arctic climate.
