"Strømsør i Bardu" (2 of 6)
Description
During the period between 1940 and 1990, the granary, storehouse on pillars, water well and summer cowshed were gone, but the storehouse on pillars was rebuilt. All of the building structures at Strømsør, which were built during the period 1860-1900, have the following similarities:
• Each building structure has walls made of unmodified timber and sod roofs.
• The wood used to build the structures was found in the surrounding area. Nearly all of the construction was executed by the people living on the farm.
• The structures are unified, but the construction is reflective of the fact that the farm was built based on available financing and work capacity.
