"Stien langs sjøen – mot Trondenes" (3 of 5)
Description
The "Sun and Wind" pavilion is one of several meeting points as we head southwards. It is open to all and looked after by neighbours and members who also maintain the path. To reach the pavilion from the north we first have to walk along a 90m long wooden bridge. The pavilion rests on spindly wooden posts anchored to the rock and steel cables also secure the construction. Built in untreated larch it has a steep pitched roof and its footprint measures 3x6m. The northern wall is glazed to protect against cold winds whilst the southern wall is open to let the sun unhindered into the sheltered space. The pavilion has a contemporary style and has become an attractive architectural landmark.
