The characteristic building that houses KFUK/KFUM and soldathjemmet (a home for soldiers on leave) is situated in the centre of Harstad, in an area made up of low-level accommodation buildings and larger business premises, including Harstad Town Hall. The building stands on a grey rendered foundation wall and is rectangular in shape, with outer walls faced with brickwork. The gently-sloping lean-to roof bends slightly to the south-east. The entire building has a characteristic appearance, with the exterior decoration consisting of a play between large expanses of brick wall and the right-angled window-frames.
