"Harstad rådhus" (4 of 4)
Description
The new section of the town hall was erected just above the old section. It extends upwards along the street Verftsgata which is pictured here, and southwards along the street Asbjørn Selsbanesgate. This annexation was executed during the first half of the 1980s. The design of the new section is characterised by the time when it was erected, and separates itself from the original building complex. The most characteristic element of the new town hall is the contrast between the sealed vertical walls that are painted white and the horizontal rows of windows with red ceramic tiles in the parapet field:

sealed - open
