On a knoll above the southern part of the town centre, on the street Hans Egedes gate 33 near the barracks, lies the officers' villa. This beautiful site with a distinct design makes it an eye-catcher in this part of town. It is a wooden one-storied villa painted in light colours, with a stately slate covered roof. The large throughway roof dormer that terminates with an arch is placed asymmetrically in relation to the building. The roof dormer's curved form is repeated in the termination of the two stately brick chimneys on the roof - this bestows the building with an elegant Jugendstil-quality.
