On the street Harstadgårdsveien, right above the BSIN's gymnasium, there is a large and stately villa that was built as a residence for the commanding officer of the engineer battalion, most likely erected during the 1920s. It is a grand site and from the villa and the garden there is a great east facing view of the sea. It is a rectangular wooden one-and-a-half-storied building - painted white with red brick pantiles covering a steep roof. The windows, window shutters and remaining details bestow the building with a National Romantic quality with a trace of Jugendstil.
