"Aspenes gård" (5 of 5)
Description
The boathouse is placed at a slight angle to the shoreline, and was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It has a particular simple frame construction, called “stavlinekonstruksjon” in Norwegian, which is mainly found in boathouses in the northern parts of the country. The frame consists of sturdy timber beams and columns which are stiffened by long braces in varying angles and directions, often placed symmetrically to the columns. The walls have vertical cladding and a birch bark and turf roof.
