Description

The farmhouse was built in 1884, and the story goes that the timber was sawn by a head saw elsewhere and brought as a raft by sea. Its ground plan is unusual as there are two large log built-rooms side by side on the sea-facing side. At the back there was originally one long room with logs only at the top and bottom of the walls, and it contained the kitchen with an open fireplace. This space has since been made into three rooms: main entrance, bathroom and kitchen entrance. The house has empire-style windows and vertical wooden cladding on three sides with exposed log construction on the fourth.
