At Tennes in Balsfjord there are three rock carving fields, situated higher up in the landscape than today's settlements. The northernmost one is named Kirkely and is near the church. The two other fields, Gråberget and Bukkhammaren, are situated about 2.5 km further south and near the old vicarage. A footpath connects the three fields. The principles of inclusive design have been applied and there are bridges, viewing platforms, seating and major parts of the path consist of wooden ramps.

The rock carvings are estimated to be about 5000 years old, that is, from around 2600BC.
