The building rests on a massive pedestal which slants slightly outwards, and is constructed of unmodified concrete. Due to the fact that it rises above the pedestal and has a narrow, horizontal window band, the building seems to be virtually hovering. In the background one can see Tøtta I and II (also called the compass houses) - these two tower blocks were also designed by Hovig, in 1968 and -73.
