"Mortengården" (6 of 9)
Description
The two-storey storehouse is situated just east of the farmhouse so that the distance from the kitchen is as short as possible. It was used for storing food and clothes, and during the summer young people would often sleep in the upstairs rooms. This storehouse consists of two parts with two entrances and no windows. The southern end of the building has complete log walls whilst the northern end has "skjelterverk" on both levels with rows of logs carryinging the intermediate floor joists and the upper "skjelterverk". The storehouse originates from Markenes in Balsfjord.
