"Mortengården" (5 of 9)
Description
The shed is situated between the farmhouse and the grain barn and is also built using the "skjelterverk" technique. Here the building has just one row of logs at the bottom, corner posts and vertical planks and then a row of logs under the eaves and log gables. This kind of shed is very useful for storing anything that needs drying and good ventilation. It originates from Skjåvik in Malangen where it was situated close to the sea and used to store fishing tackle and other sea related equipment.
