"Kaldslett gård" (3 of 7)
Description
The current occupiers moved back to the family farm around 1990 to use it as a home for themselves and their children. The house was in need of renovation and this was done in close collaboration with the county conservation authorities. The windows and the external cladding were replaced by copies of what were there. A new bathroom and kitchen were installed, the latter in the same position as before. A spacious dining area with views of the fjord was achieved by removing the non-load-bearing wall between the kitchen and the original entrance lobby. The reception rooms tell the story of different ways of living and furnishing. The southern one has retained the dados and wallpaper in between pilasters and is still used for special occasions.
