The large former fermentation room is located on the street corner north of the director's residence. The tall facades have a vertical emphasis with glass and brick clad panels hung between the columns that rest on a concrete plinth. The strong verticality contrasts with the horizontal emphasis of the director's residence. The newer building was designed by the architect Torolf Larsen who specialized in industrial architecture. He also designed the connecting concrete bridge across Storgata.
