When the school first opened it had a cafe/snack bar aimed at the general public. Its entrance was towards Kemnerbakken and it was right next to the school's bakery and preparatory kitchen. There were large teaching kitchens on both ground floors. Toilets and cloak rooms were situated under the restaurant facing Vestregata. The classrooms and the students' common rooms faced Kemnerbakken.
