Description
The boathouse’s large door faces the sea
there is another, ordinary-sized door in the gable wall facing the land. In large boathouses there was sometimes a loft where sea equipment of various kinds could be stored or, if it was big enough, it could be used as sleeping quarters. The hatch over the door indicates a boathouse loft.
