Description

The foyer follows the entire width of the building, with the entrance and ticket office on one end. On the opposite end, by the glass wall that faces the sea is a small café with a mobile serving counter. The entrances to the halls, along with the public conveniences are located along the long wall, in between the foyer and the hall. The dressing rooms can be covered with folding doors made of solid oak.

The ceiling height, overhead lighting and the contact with both the Tromsø Sound and the square make the foyer an impressive room. The building's public areas were made with painstaking details - creating a play between matte and glossy surfaces and varying materials and surface textures. The floor is made of slate from Alta and the walls are made of either lightly coloured concrete or ash wood, with oak trim. The casting work performed in the concrete is exemplary.
