The university campus in Breivika is located approximately 3 kilometres north of the Tromsø town centre. The two pavilions are located on a grassy lot that acts like a break in between the building structures. It is constructed like a park, with parallel rows of trees, in a sloping landscape. The buildings are characterised by a fusion of geometric forms and therefore stand in contrast to the remaining architecture on the campus. They are referred to as the Upper and Lower Pavilions and act like sculptural elements in a park. By being located on each side of the walkway axis, which runs through the campus, the buildings communicate with the overbuilt entrances that extend into the axis.
