Description

The main building is situated in a north-south direction, parallel to the streets Petersborggata and Skolegata. Towards the south lies the street Håkon den gamles gate, which acts as a boundary for the school grounds. In the 1990s, an addition to the school was built in this area. It was conceived by the Architecture Firm Amundsen. This firm is led by the architect Børre Amundsen, who is the great grandchild of Peter Arnet Amundsen, the architect of the original building. This annex includes the main gymnasium which acts as the school's large assembly room. This is also where the traditional show during Christmas/New Year's weekend takes place. In regard to form and use of material, this annex corresponds with the older school building. These two structures are connected through a narrow corridor on the ground level.
