Description
The use of sill bands is another feature of the Swiss chalet style and their purpose was to create good proportions on the elevations. Villa Birkelund also has other typical elements of the Swiss chalet style such as polygonal windows just under the extended roofs and the characteristic composition of the porch's glazed walls.
