Description

Fredensborgveien 102 also has many of the characteristics of functionalism. It is a large two storey villa with a low pitch pyramidal slate roof. The distinction between the upper and lower floors is emphasized by the upper external cladding protruding beyond the cladding of the wall below. This villa also has the typical square windows with a mullion and corner windows, but neither the current decorative surrounds nor the brick wall by the entrance belong to the style of functionalism.

The house was built for the merchant Sigurd Koch who was very involved in public life in Bodø. Among many other things he was concerned about making the town more beautiful and took part in the development of the public parks.
