"Nordland Kultursenter" (2 of 5)
Description
Norland Cultural Centre's large south-facing main building is a two storey square sawn log construction with both a cellar and an attic. It is in the Swiss chalet style with elegantly cut out decorations on the gables. The external walls have vertical rebated tongue and groove cladding with a sawn two-layer sill band in contrasting colours under the first floor windows. The same lace like sawn pattern is repeated at the bottom end of the cladding. The current colour scheme matches the original one with light beige walls, darker decorative details and white windows. The building has two entrances from the courtyard and an extension containing a stairwell on the east wall. On the southern side is a wide one storey glass porch with steps leading down to the garden.
