Description

The lighthouse and the lighthouse keeper's cottage were built in 1901 and the station was fully operational in 1902. The assistant lighthouse keeper's cottage was built in 1936. The lighthouse was run by electricity from 1960 and was fully automated in 1993 when the full-time keepers left the station. The Norwegian Coastal Administration lets Landegode Light Station to Bodø City Council, which has also imposed further protective planning regulations for the area. The light station is now used as a conference centre.
