The Saltstraumen Bridge measures 768 metres in length. The slim deck is supported by nine rectangular pillars - six on the north side of the sound, two on the island in the middle and one on the south side. Because of its arched form and positioning (the bridge anchor on the north side is positioned further inward than on the south side), the bridge marks the tidal current and enhances the landscape in a breathtaking way.
