Description

In 1994 Tinden was given protected status in accordance with the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Act. It is now owned by a charity whose objectives are to preserve the buildings, their immediate environment and the cultural landscape included in the property in accordance with the requirements laid down in the listing document. Another objective is to secure access to its land and historic buildings for the general public. Since the property's last private owner died, there has been a continuous process of repairs and improvements to the buildings and wharf. Tinden is usually open for visitors during parts of the summer and from time to time there are guided tours around the old fishing village and visits to the old general store and the warehouses.
