Description

Båtsfjord
Built in 1929 the old Strømmen Bridge is a steel truss bridge with a concrete deck. It crosses the short outlet, Strømmen, from the lake Strømsvatnet into the fjord Båtsfjorden and a bigger new steel and concrete beam bridge has replaced it. The old bridge is now reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.

In 2008 the old Strømmen Bridge was granted protected status in accordance with the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Act.
